ABOUT RYAH
Ryah Lael is a Savannah native, who grew up singing alongside her father, Clay Johnson, Johnson also owns and runs a big band, so she was raised with jazzy, swing music as her soundtrack. As she began writing her own music, she leaned more into pop and singer/songwriter genres. Now, she hopes to release more music within the pop/rock vein, taking inspiration from bands like Paramore, Mazzy Star and Fleetwood Mac.
Ryah has studied Commercial Voice at Belmont University and is about to graduate SCAD with a degree in acting. Before attending Belmont, she took a year to travel and sing with Clay Johnson's band, the Fabulous Equinox Orchestra. At Belmont, she sang in "A Belmont Christmas," which aired nationwide on PBS. At SCAD, she is a part of the executive vocal ensemble, The Bee Sharps and has performed in France, Atlanta, andFlorida with the group. Recently, she made her NYC debut performing at the popular jazz club, Swing 46. Ryah is so excited for what the future of her artistic journey holds and has so many plans of sharing her music with you all!
